Frequently Asked Questions

Discover you question from underneath or give us a call!
  • Do I Need a GP Referral to See a Physiotherapist?
No referral is required for physiotherapy treatment. Walk-ins welcome. WorkSafe (workcover), DVA and TAC patients may also book for physio without a referral. All EPC referrals welcome. If, after an effective assessment is carried out, we feel the need to refer onwards, we will do so to the necessary professional.
  • Can Physiotherapists Refer for Scans?
Yes! We can refer you for X-ray and MRI scans at a similar cost (for you) when compared with a GP referral (some exceptions to this). We can also refer for an ultrasound examination, unfortunately this will often be more expensive for you than if you were referred for this by your GP. If it would be cheaper for you to go to your GP to get a referral, we will always tell you this.
  • What Should I Bring/Wear?
Please wear comfortable clothes. Pending on the injury, we may require you to reveal the painful area so please bring clothes to ensure your comfort. If you have had any recent scans or advice regarding your presenting condition, please bring these with you. If it is your initial appointment with us, please arrive 5/10 minutes early to fill in the necessary new patient forms.
  • Is There Parking on Site?
Yes! There is a car park at the rear of the practice, with 8 car pack spaces. For this, you turn onto Alice Street and the first right brings you into the car park. Should that be full there is ample on-street parking on the streets around the practice, please just ensure you adhere to the parking signs.
  • Can I Use My Private Health Insurance Card?
Yes! With our Health Pay we can do on the spot claims if you have private health insurance physiotherapy extras cover. We will need to swipe your health insurance card for this, so please ensure you have it with you. Should you forget your card, we will print you out an official receipt in which you can then claim online for through your private health insurance company. Each individual has a different policy with their private health insurance company, due to this we will not be able to find out what your rebate will be. Should you want to know, please call you health insurance company prior. All our rehabilitation classes are run by physiotherapists, so almost all health funds will cover these, just as they would for your physiotherapy treatment.
